FAQS

An ultrasonic cleaner works by sending high-frequency sound waves through water, causing microscopic bubbles to rapidly form, expand and then collapse. This releases tiny bursts of energy against the surface of the appliance that loosen and remove plaque and debris. If the device is submerged, any surface that is in contact with water will be cleaned.

The Brushpod does not kill bacteria, but it removes bacteria by breaking down and lifting it from the surface of your appliance. It is significantly more effective in removing bacteria than cleaning tablets and brushing combined ^.

Yes, you may use dissolvable cleaning tablets within the ultrasonic cleaner as long as they are non-corrosive. This may assist with reducing odor and the sud formation can assist with sterilization too. However, if you are using the Brushpod frequently, you should not find the need to do this ^^.

FAQS

Studies have shown that soft bristled toothbrushes are very effective in removing plaque and food debris from the teeth^. Harder bristled brushes can strip the tooth of enamel and damage the gum margins overtime, resulting in tooth sensitivity and gum recession^.

^. Jeong, M.-J.et al.(2018) ‘Effect of ultra-soft and soft toothbrushes on the removal of plaque and tooth abrasion’,Journal of Dental Hygiene Science, 18(3), pp. 164–171. doi:10.17135/jdhs.2018.18.3.164.

This is dependent on the advice of your dental professional. Generally speaking, extra soft manual toothbrushes have been shown to have similar effectiveness to an electric brush, with less risk of tooth and gum damage^.

Toothbrush bristles will always harbor bacteria overtime. Dental professionals typically recommend replacing your brush every 3 months*.

The BrushWise Ultra Soft Sensitive Toothbrush works in conjunction with good oral hygiene habits. It is a tool to assist you with cleaning your teeth and gums more gently. For optimal results, brush gently in circular motions around the margin where the gum and teeth meet. Consider the use of a smooth, low grit toothpaste and regularly visit your dentist every 6 months.
